Know before your appointment

Tap a service below for a quick rundown of what to have ready so your signing goes smoothly.

📄 General Notary +

For acknowledgments, jurats, oaths/affirmations, and copy certifications.

  • Bring a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, or state ID).
  • Do not sign the document beforehand — it must be signed in front of the notary.
  • Bring the complete document; every signer named on it must be present.
  • If a witness is required for your document, arrange for them to be present too.
  • Have the notary fee ready — it will be confirmed with you before the appointment.
A notary verifies identity and witnesses a signature — I can't explain the contents of your document or give legal advice about it.
🏠 Loan Signing +

For refinances, purchases, HELOCs, and other loan document packages.

  • Valid photo ID for every signer on the loan.
  • All signers should plan to be present together, unless separate signings were arranged in advance.
  • Set aside 45–60+ minutes — loan packages involve many pages and signatures.
  • Have a clear, well-lit table or desk to sign at, and reading glasses if you use them.
  • Review your closing disclosure or loan documents ahead of time if your lender or title company sent them, and bring any questions for them directly.
  • Have your wiring or payoff instructions handy only if your title/escrow company asked you to — I don't handle those funds.
As your signing agent, I make sure documents are signed, dated, and notarized correctly — questions about loan terms or figures go to your lender or title company.
📜 Estate Planning +

For wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.

  • Valid photo ID for the person signing.
  • Bring the complete, unsigned document — signing happens at the appointment.
  • Many estate documents require witnesses in addition to a notary — confirm how many you need, and that they are not named as beneficiaries.
  • The signer must be able to understand and voluntarily agree to what they're signing.
  • Have any required supporting ID or documentation for named agents or healthcare representatives on hand.
I can notarize and help coordinate witnesses, but I'm not an attorney — for drafting or explaining what a document means legally, please consult one.
🌐 Apostille +

For documents that need to be recognized in another country.

  • Know which country the document is going to — apostille requirements can vary by country.
  • Most documents need to be notarized (or otherwise certified) before an apostille can be requested.
  • Bring the original document, or a certified copy if that's what the receiving country requires.
  • Plan ahead — standard processing takes longer than a same-day notarization; ask about rush options if you're on a deadline.
  • Bring valid photo ID if any portion of the document needs to be signed or certified at the appointment.
Apostille requirements are set by the destination country and the AZ Secretary of State — I'll help gather what's needed, but can't guarantee acceptance by a foreign authority.
